  5. 1965 Mustang

    Dad bought a 1965 Mustang when I was 10. In Merced I drove it until I bought my own first car. Pops had it restored in 2000 and this picture was taken in 2005 on the 40th anniversary drives. One day in '72 Mike Kahl and I drove it out G street past Yosemite and pegged the speedometer at about 125. I pulled off to make a U turn and the motor stalled. I thought I'd blown the engine. But, I turned the key and the motor started right up. Whew....

    Henry began a career in software development in 1977 at Rockwell International. There he learned assembly language programming, real time operating systems, and protocol device drivers. He worked at the Copenhagen support office for the bank and airline customers. Branch banking in Europe fueled the growth of low speed serial connections and transaction processing systems. Henry wrote X25 protocol drivers on arrays of microprocessors, and designed and implemented PC based alarm, performance and monitoring systems for a variety of customers in Denmark, Norway, Germany and France.
